Mumbai, October 12, 2026: DriveWealth, the US-based brokerage infrastructure company, has appointed Abhinav Agarwal as Head of India. Based in Mumbai, Agarwal will lead DriveWealth’s India strategy and build out its India office. He reports to Rohit Mahna, Global Chief Revenue Officer.

His appointment comes as DriveWealth plans to enter India through the GIFT City route, marking a significant step in the company’s India expansion strategy.

  • Abhinav Agarwal to Lead DriveWealth’s India Operations

Agarwal brings experience across product strategy, business development and financial services, spanning fintech, brokerage, wealth management and digital investment platforms. He most recently served as Head of Product at 5paisa Capital. Before that, he held product leadership roles at Motilal Oswal and INDmoney, after earlier roles at HDFC, Citi and Standard Chartered. He holds an MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB).

At DriveWealth, Agarwal will build the India team, drive partnerships with brokerages, wealth managers and fintechs, and shape India-focused solutions that help partners offer US investing to their customers.

India is one of the largest opportunities in the world for first-time US investors,” said a DriveWealth spokesperson. “Abhinav knows this market and our platform from the client side, which makes him the right person to build our presence her

  • Why DriveWealth Is Strengthening Its India Presence

DriveWealth’s Brokerage-as-a-Service platform enables banks, fintechs, digital wallets and other businesses to embed investing and trading into their own offerings. Its APIs support core brokerage functions, including custody, clearing, settlement and regulatory reporting. This lets partners launch and scale investment services without building a full brokerage operation themselves.

GIFT City’s framework for global market access gives DriveWealth a regulated route to serve India at scale. Through it, the company intends to partner directly with Indian brokers, wealth platforms and fintechs, giving them the infrastructure and support to bring US market access to their customers.

  • From Building Investing Products to Building the Infrastructure Behind Them

Agarwal’s move connects two sides of the investing ecosystem: the platforms that serve investors, and the infrastructure that powers them. Having worked with DriveWealth as a client, he brings a first-hand understanding of what Indian platforms need to make global investing successful.

“Indian brokers and fintechs want to make global investing a core product and a real revenue line, not a side feature,” said Agarwal. “Our job is to give them the infrastructure and partnership to do that, alongside their growing Indian business.

  • The Road Ahead

With a dedicated leader on the ground in Mumbai and a planned entry through GIFT City, DriveWealth is set to deepen its relationships with Indian financial services businesses and expand access to US markets for investors across India.
