The sharp increase was driven by two mega deals - Simple Energy’s $182 million fundraise and SiMa AI’s $150 million Series C. Together, the two rounds contributed more than 80% of the week's total funding, once again highlighting the outsized impact of large-ticket deals on India's startup funding landscape.
Funding activity also extended across home interiors, agricultural machinery, NBFCs, edtech and AI. With September already recording four $100 million-plus deals, the momentum entering October offers a positive signal for the ecosystem, although sustained growth will depend on continued large-ticket investments.
